Are all of your veggies organic?

Yes, everything we grow is certified USDA organic!

 

What is the obligation? Do I join for the whole winter?

These winter sales are week-to-week pop-up sales - there's no obligation to purchase regularly. We do, however, offer a CSA program during the growing season - there is more information on the CSA elsewhere on the website.

 

Where is the farm?

205 Hidden Valley Road, Kingston NY 12401. We're located in the hamlet of Lomontville, off of Ashokan Road. Coming down Hidden Valley Road, you will pass farm fields on the left, then our house and garage, and then the driveway into the farm. Enter that driveway, park by the barn, and you will see an awning with tables set up, and that's where your box of veggies will be.

 

When do pick-ups happen?

Our first pickup is Wednesday 11/8, 3:00-6:00.  Pickups will continue each Wednesday through May, unless otherwise noted.

 

What are the order windows and deadlines?

• For 11/8, please order by Tuesday 11/7 at 9PM

 

What does pick-up look like?

All pick-ups are pre-bagged and self-serve. Bags will be labeled with customers' last names will be set out alphabetically on tables under the awning at the farm.  If it is below freezing: we’ll keep the boxes inside the warm hallway – look for the sign on-farm with details.

 

How do I pay?

When ordering through the website, you can pay with a credit card, or select to pay cash/check at the farm. We will have a deposit box at the farm for in-person payments. Please make checks out to Solid Ground Farm.

 

Why can't I order farther in advance?

Because we have to take into account what's available for harvest and the impact of cold temperatures on the harvests, we need to keep ordering within a few days of pickups. Twice a week, we'll assess the plants and come up with an inventory estimate. Those target numbers will be transferred to the store inventory for the upcoming distribution day.

 

Will you be selling products from other farms?

We will occasionally offer locally-grown mushrooms from Wiltbank Farm in Saugerties. Additionally, we will work with other local farms for a wider range of products. Please stay tuned!
